Hartford Dispensary is an Equal Opportunity Employer. M/F/Disability/Veteran.
Hartford Dispensary is a private, non-profit, behavioral healthcare organization providing mental health and substance abuse treatment, prevention, community health services and research. The agency was originally established in 1871 as an outpatient medical facility chartered specifically to provide medical and dental services to people in the greater Hartford area who would not otherwise be able to afford them.
After a long and distinguished history of providing traditional medical, surgical, dental and social services, the agency changed its focus in 1971 to the delivery of outpatient behavioral health care services. Since that time, the agency has developed medication assisted treatment services, substance abuse prevention programs, mental health services, and infectious disease services. For many years, the agency has actively participated in pharmacological and behavioral research protocols. Since its inception, the agency has collaborated with other community and state programs to ensure timely and appropriate referrals for patients to specialized services in the community.
We treat over 5,500 patients per day within our network of ten clinics at nine statewide locations in Manchester, Hartford (2 clinics + primary/dental care), New Britain, Bristol, New London, Norwich, Willimantic and Torrington.
